No injuries are reported in a coal train derailment in western Nebraska between Hyannis and Ashby.
ASHBY, Neb. (AP) - KNEB radio in Scottsbluff (http://bit.ly/VqN0Bk ) says the derailment involved a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. The railroad says 29 loaded cars on the eastbound train went off the tracks around 5 a.m. Tuesday in a rural area between Ashby and Hyannis.
The train was pulling more than 100 cars. The cars involved in the derailment were in the middle and ended up on their side.
Cleanup is under way. The derailment is under investigation.
