Authorities say alcohol is suspected in a crash that sent eight people to the hospital in western Nebraska.
SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - KSID radio in Sidney (http://bit.ly/SNXLZo ) says the accident happened early Sunday on a maintenance road near Sidney. The Nebraska State Patrol says eight people were in a pickup, which crashed after it went across a ditch and hit an embankment.
The patrol says no one was wearing a seatbelt.
Four people were taken a hospital in Sidney. There's no word on their condition. Four others were taken to a hospital in Scottsbluff. KNEB radio (http://bit.ly/OOyP9b ) says they were listed in stable condition on Monday.
The accident happened just after 1 a.m. The truck was totaled.
A message to the patrol Monday afternoon was not returned.
