If it sounds too good to be true it probably is - if you get a text saying you won a Target gift card, ignore it.

Thousands of people are receiving a phony text message offering them free gift cards. Nebraska Better Business Bureau President Jim Hegarty wants to get the word out so people don't fall for it thinking they are getting a windfall right before the holidays.

Jim Hegarty: 

Hegarty says DO NOT go to that website. It is a phishing scheme and an attempt to lure people into providing personal information.
