The national "Click It or Ticket" seat belt enforcement starts today and the Nebraska State Patrol's Deb Collins says they will participate in the effort, along with many local law enforcement agencies.
Deb Collins:
As of November 15th, there have been 183 people killed on Nebraska roads this year. That compares to 159 roadway fatalities at this time in 2011. 93 of the 183 people killed so far this year were not wearing seat belts. The enforcement runs through November 25th.
Many law enforcement agencies, including the local police and sheriff departments, are also participating.
