Body found at monument in Western Nebraska has been identified.
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - The Scotts Bluff County sheriff has identified a body found at the Scotts Bluff National Monument in the Nebraska Panhandle.
Sheriff Mark Overman identified the body found Sunday afternoon as 22-year-old Cody Bindschadler of rural Scottsbluff.
Overman told radio station KNEB (http://bit.ly/V1QJ4O) that Bindschadler fell from a dangerous non-public area atop and east of a walking tunnel on the Saddle Rock Trail.
The body was found on a slope east of the walking tunnel.
Scotts Bluff National Monument Superintendent Ken Mabery says there hasn't been a death at the monument in about 15 years. Mabery says the mood was somber at the park Monday.
