U-S-D-A released their year-end crop report today. USDA Chief Economist Joe Glauber says there was an 11% increase in crops planted with the most significant in major crops like corn and soybeans.

Joe Glauber, USDA Chief Economist; "a lower base."

In corn production alone there was more than a 25% drop in what was expected prior to dry conditions in production areas. Corn had lower export numbers and lower global ending stocks.


U-S-D-A released their year-end crop report today. USDA Chief Economist Joe Glauber says corn ending stocks were one of the many surprises in 2012.

Glauber says there was lower wheat ending stock numbers which points to more feed use. Corn had lower export numbers and lower global ending stocks.
