LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Swiss pharmaceutical company has recalled two products it manufactured at a closed production facility in Lincoln.
The Lincoln Journal Star (http://bit.ly/12dgN5j ) reports Novartis on Thursday voluntarily recalled lots of Triaminic and Theraflu syrups. The company says the products had potentially faulty child-resistant caps.
Novartis says the recall is for certain lots manufactured and distributed between May 2010 and December 2011. They say very little of the product remains available.
The newspaper reports there have been a dozen reports of children unscrewing the locked caps. One child required medical attention.
Novartis closed its Lincoln facility in December 2011 after federal inspections found numerous quality-control problems. But it said recently that it had resumed limited production at the plant.
