Gov. Dave Heineman will testify on his tax proposals at two legislative hearings
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Gov. Dave Heineman will testify on his tax proposals at two legislative hearings.
The Legislature's Revenue Committee has scheduled bill hearings on Wednesday and Thursday. Sen. Beau McCoy will present both measures before the governor testifies. Tax Commissioner Doug Ewald will then answer technical questions.
The committee has set aside one hour each for proponents, opponents and neutral testifiers. Individuals will not have time limits, but are asked to keep their comments concise. The chairman, Sen. Galen Hadley, says all who want to speak will have a chance.
The hearings will be in Room 1524 at the Capitol, with a spillover area in Room 1023. The hearings will air live on NET 2 on Wednesday and online on Thursday.
