LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The state has dropped a lawsuit against a Lincoln landlord accused of discriminating against two Iraqi renters and trying to intimidate a handyman who cooperated with the investigation.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/VmPjGr) that a Lancaster County District Court judge dismissed the case last month at the request of Nebraska attorney general's office, which said problems coordinating evidence and witnesses led to the dismissal.

The lawsuit came after the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission filed a complaint in 2010 against Ryan Reinke.

The tenants, Kheloud Naser and Khiloud Bahri, said Reinke refused to make needed repairs to their apartments. The complaint also said Reinke tried to intimidate a handyman into refusing to participate in an investigation of the complaints.

Reinke denied all of the allegations in court filings.
