Osceola farmer Kevin Peterson says he and other members of the Nebraska Farm Bureau emphasized the need for a five-year farm bill during their trip to the nation's capital...especially the need for crop insurance and disaster assistance to manage risk.

Peterson says he emphasized the need for the certainty a new five-year farm bill would provide. The 2008 Farm Bill was extended when the last Congress failed to approve new legislation.
