A 40-year-old western Nebraska woman has made a plea deal in two child sexual assault cases

HERSHEY, Neb. (AP) - A 40-year-old western Nebraska woman has made a plea deal in two child sexual assault cases.

North Platte television station KNOP says (http://bit.ly/XI8BaF) Deanna Fischer is scheduled to be sentenced on June 10. She pleaded no contest to a count of third-degree sexual assault and one count of misdemeanor child abuse after prosecutors lowered and dropped related charges.

Court records say that in February 2004, a child was sexually abused by Fischer's husband, Daniel Fischer, who has since committed suicide. Records say Deanna Fischer knew about the abuse but didn't try to stop it.

Court records also say Deanna Fischer inappropriately touched a child in December 2006.
