This is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Chuck Reed, at the American Cancer Society, says Nebraskans who've reached a certain age or above should schedule a potentially-life-saving colonoscopy.
Reed "removes it"
Colon cancer will claim an estimated 360 lives in Nebraska this year. It's the number-two cancer killer, behind only lung cancer.
Getting a colonoscopy isn't a picnic, but it could save your life. Plus, it's one of few cancer screenings where potentially-deadly polyps can be removed immediately after they're found. Chuck Reed, at the American Cancer Society, says there are steps you can take every day to stay well.
